Americans are spending more than ever on health and fitness, but their increased spend isn’t going toward gym memberships. Spending on physical fitness classes and gym memberships grew 5% last year. In comparison, streaming fitness spending grew 59% in 2019, according to a Cardlytics study.
The industry is clearly moving towards smart, streaming at-home fitness, and the shift is likely permanent. Fitness brands need to consider how to quickly build and market smart equipment to win big.
